This large painting is the first in a series of close up details of the Kalanchoe plant - nicknamed Flap Jack.
It is a succulent plant and the leaves are reminiscent of pancakes.
I have painted this on a large scale which gives it an abstract appearance.
These grow in my garden, so I have an unlimited source for the play of light and shadow to paint from.

Unframed, this colorful, original oil on canvas painting measures 40" x 30" x 1.5". (76 x 102 cm)
The front of the painting has the signature etched quietly into the paint "Yvonne Wagner ".
It is also signed on the back of the canvas Yvonne V. Wagner .
The 1.5" sides are painted a deep blackish/aubergine colour.
It is wired and ready to hang - no need for a frame.
